The fine line between forgiveness and discipine
I love NASCAR. Call me a redneck if you will but I love the sport. I got to go to the Lowes Motor Speedway in Charlotte, NC a few years ago and WOW what a rush. The sounds are awesome and the vibrations give you chills. The colors of the cars are so much brighter in person than they are on TV.
Friday, reigning Nextel Cup Champion, Kurt Busch was arrested for reckless driving. This is not the first run in with the law or NASCAR. Read story here. He has been suspended by NASCAR for reckless driving on the track. Roush Racing suspended him for the rest of the season which means he will never drive for them again. Roush said they don't want to be Kurt appologists anymore. They have forgiven him in the past but they finally got sick of dealing with him.
What about other athletes like Dennis Rodman, Darryl Strawberry, Doc Gooden, etc.... The list goes on. Jesus said to forgive 70 X 7 but when do you discipline and when do you forgive? I wish I knew the answer. God seems to discipline me daily but others seem to get away with murder. How do we show forgiveness in a lost world when people need discipline? Just wondering?

why do discipline and forgiveness have to be mutually exclusive? is it not possible to forgive someone while at the same time discipline them?
Good point. I guess I'm thinking about those who are chronic "sinners"
