Can you be right and wrong at the same time?
Can you be right and wrong at the same time? I say yes! Specifically in SBC life we have seen this over that last 30 years.
The Conservative Resurgence was right in my opinion. If we are going to preach and teach the Bible then our professors at seminaries and SBC colleges need to believe all of the Bible. I had professors at Samford who did not. I saw several new believers "faith" destroyed by these men. They became confused and disillusioned about God and the Bible. In the late 1970's several conservative churches and leaders led a charge to take back the SBC. I would not be a Southern Baptist today if it were not brave leaders of the Conservative Resurgence.
However, I believe the crusade went too far. I believe some people are not happy and fulfilled if they don't have an enemy. It is always about winning and being right. Sometimes you can be right and wrong at the same time. How? By your attitude. I can fight about being right and actually win an argument with another person but if I destroy their character or their integrity, what have I gained. In SBC life careers have been destroyed in the name of being right. We have turned friends against one another. I believe the time has come for us to make sure we are correct and right at the same time rather than being right and treating another wrong at the same time.

You got that one right, Kev.
The right thing, done for the right reasons, in the wrong way.
Dear Kevin,
The end does NOT justify the means.
I've read that some Japanese soldiers on remote island outposts did not get the news that WWII was over until years afterward.
Love in Christ,
Jeff
