I love the internet. It connects me with so many people. I can e-mail people all over the world. Blogs allow me to learn so much from other people. Thanks to Blogs I have new friends. Thanks to my friend Joe Kennedy I have a new friend Marty Duren. We talked on the phone yesterday for over an hour. I would have never met him without the internet. We found out we have a mutual friend, Thomas Hammond that has been the closest thing I had as a mentor. Jason Burns runs in different circles then me since he is in the "church planting" world. I learn so much from him and the blogs that he recommends to read. Today I was talking to my friend Todd McGee @ the Grove about needing a church coach or consultant and he told me to contact Dale Galloway, his former Dean @ the Beeson Pastors school in KY. Dale has moved to Arizona and his wife is on staff at Scottsdale Bible Church in Scottsdale, AZ. I e-mailed her to ask if she could put me in touch with her husband. Not only did she respond, but she gave me his e-mail address and his Cell #! WOW! This is a big-time Church leader who is very much in demand. I am amazed at how my connections allow me to meet people I would never have the opportunity to rub shoulders with. Cool! God is good!

i actually met marty in person at catalyst. he's a pretty cool guy.

it turns out jason burns is planting that church in newnan, georgia, which is just south of whitesburg, where my friend blaize lives. and blaize is attending a church in carrollton called peachtree community church, which is a plant off of a church that marty's friend or relative (i don't remember which) was a part of.

the seven degrees of joe.
