On the condition of anonymity.....
"On the condition of anonymity." I hate those words! Have some guts people!
I am torn. Dr. Bob Reccord the President of the North American Mission Board has had a big impact on my ministry. I responded to a message he delivered when I was on staff at a church in Metro Atlanta. He helped us get our church start off the ground. If it had not been for him we would have struggled.
According to the Associated Baptist Press, Dr. Reccord's job is in the balance. Read the story here. I don't know all of the details. I want to think the best but I'm not there. The part that disturbs me is how the Board of Trustees are speaking "on the condition of anonymity." Why? He deserves better. If they believe he needs to be removed, then do it. I hate anonymity. That is being a coward! Dr. Reccord deserves better than that. Dr. Reccord thanks for your service to the SBC and your help to me!

Wow! Compare some of the "anonyomous" responses to those of Wade Burleson. One is open and conducts himself with grace and love and the others are hiding in the shadows making some remarks that are borderline slander. Most of those comments should have never been spoken to the press unless you were willing to attach your name to them. At least Terry Fox was willing to stick his neck out.
Brother Kevin L,
I know what you mean about being torn. Recent years have found me really having to determine if I was following the Lord or a theological system that revolved around power and personalities.
I had to deal with alot of personal sin and seriously ask God to direct my future. I had made a mess of my life.
I do not think there is a young leaders network. If there is I pray God does away with it. I do believe that God is raising up some men and women to deal with some serious problems in the SBC.
It is my prayer that when the problems are solved that those that God raised up for a specific ministry in the body at this time will let go and go back to what their first call in ministry was. It would be terible for them to desire to set up their own kingdoms.
I have been through this before and that is what happened. Good people lost their way and decided to become kings and king makers. That must not happen again.
When this is over the soldiers must lay down their arms and go back to that dark sea of sin and start casting their nets for the souls of men.
We are first and foremost to be disciples of Jesus and fishers of men. I lost that truth once and by the grace of my holy Lord Jesus may I never lose it again.
Pray for me my Brother. I will not fail to pray for you as the Spirit lays you on my heart.
