Train up a child............

Fred Phelps and his church go to the funerals of our fallen soldiers and picket outside the services. Check out this flier. I am appalled! These people are not displaying the love of God. They are angry and taking it out on people while they are grieving! To make matters worse they are teaching their young children to hate! Children are impressionable. The Bible tells us to train our children in the ways of God. I don't see Jesus protesting a funeral. Remember the woman caught in adultery? He didn't condemn her. He said whoever is without sin, throw the first stone. Then he told the woman to go and sin no more! He forgave the theif on the cross, the woman at the well, Mary Magdeline and me! When I see this kind of hate, it hurts me. We should be teaching our children to serve not hate. This week our homeschool group served some homeless people. Our children set up a gym for the homeless to sleep and tables for them to eat. Then they served these men and women who God loves food that all of the children prepared. That is the kind of love my God displays. I pray that those poor children in those pictures will experience the love of God and turn from their hateful ways. God help the USA !

Phelps claims that soldiers are dying because homosexuals bombed his church. They are going to picket his funeral. Unbelievable.

What is that family going to think? It is hard for any sane person to make that connection, much less a family in grief over the loss of their loved one.

To say that their actions discredit themselves is an understatement, but we should say something to the family.

I don't think arguing with people so irrationale is worth the time, but I would like to at least say to the family that they are crazy and we condemn them.

As to the kids, it breaks my heart. I was hoping that the hatred of our society would be blunted with time and that within a few generations, our society would heal and become more unified across dividing lines. Seeing that picture makes me think it will not be within even my great grandchildren's generation - if the Lord has yet to return.
