Have you really ever thought about how strange the birth of Jesus was? Here was the Son of God, the King of the Universe, yes, the Savior and He was born in such a modest manner. I think that Jesus should have been born into pomp and circumstance. He should have had a scene like a Royal Wedding. He should have had a parade. He should have been born like Simba on the Lion King. When Simba was born his dad raised him up above all of the animals and they bowed down. Jesus was born in a stable and his crib was a manger. Think about how dirty that must have been. Why would God choose to have Jesus born in such a manner? I would have chosen better, but I'm not God. I think God wanted Jesus to be able to relate to everyone. People like to follow people with money and power. Jesus was none of that. So the people who really choose Him are following Him because He has called them thru the Holy Spirit and they really understand that they need Him. So as we celebrate Christmas, open presents and spend time with friends and family, let us remember why we really celebrate Christmas. Remember that God loved us so much He sent His Son to live as an ordinary carpenter's son and do die a horrible death on a cross for our sins! Merry Christmas!
