Movers from......... well you know....

Today our moving truck brought our stuff to Charlotte. The driver is a Christian but he had to sleep the entire time. The company brought in a local guy who caused nothing but trouble. He complained about everything. He wanted to be done the moment he got here. It gave us a real bad taste for this company. Then Earthlink did not have my DSL hooked up. (I'm picking up wireless from a neighbor). Earthlink dropped the ball and then lied to me about the cost we agreed last week. What happend to people taking pride in their work? What happened to keeping your word? We had some new friends from church bring us Bojangles chicken and fixins' plus a great fruit bowl. It was great! I hope to have more interesting things to share after we get the house in some sort of order!

Kevin- Sorry about your move. I have to describe a different experience, however, to indicate that there are service-oriented people and companies out there. When we moved to Houston to Idaho the moving company we worked with assigned a single driver to pack our goods in Idaho, drive to Houston, and unload in Houston with local labor. The man personally supervised the loading process on one end and unloading on the other. In between he escaped for a couple days with his family. Then he spent a day in the hospital due to multiple bee stings. But in spite of that he drove long hours and through the night and appeared at our home in Houston at the appointed time. Along the way he called me to let me know his progress. The end result was a problem-free move with only minor damage to one piece of furniture - and the repair was reimbursed by the moving company. This man went above and beyond to provide quality service. As I recall this man was a believer, but there are probably others who are equally conscientious.

Thanks for stopping by Bill. I'm glad you had a better experience. Our loading in Mobile was good. It was just one bad apple here.

We miss you guys too!
