An apology is due............

The trustees of the International Mission Board owe Wade Burleson an apology for their handling of his plight over the last few months. Wade's name and his family have been dragged through the mud for the last 2 months. Wade has been graceful and has acted with integrity. He actually had the guts to keep the SBC informed about what is going on in regards to the policies concerning baptism and a private prayer language. To the trustees who supported Wade, thank you. To those who have trashed his character, he deserves better. Christ-like attitudes should prevail. Wade, his family and his church deserve an apology. Since the trustees have dropped their baseless charges against him, he is due an apology-the sooner the better.

Dear Friends,

Hatley and Company's attempt to retract their actions reminds me of this story:

(Acts 16:35-39) When it was daylight, the magistrates sent their officers to the jailer with the order: "Release those men." (36) The jailer told Paul, "The magistrates have ordered that you and Silas be released. Now you can leave. Go in peace." (37) But Paul said to the officers: "They beat us publicly without a trial, even though we are Roman citizens, and threw us into prison. And now do they want to get rid of us quietly? No! Let them come themselves and escort us out." (38) The officers reported this to the magistrates, and when they heard that Paul and Silas were Roman citizens, they were alarmed. (39) They came to appease them and escorted them from the prison, requesting them to leave the city.

I think we need to make Hatley and Company escort Dr. Burleson out of the mess they have put him in.

Love in Christ,

Jeff

Rusty,

I'm sorry you feel that way. I would encourage you to wait before you leave. I think this Younger SBC group is going to really make a difference. Come to Greensboro if for no other reason but to hang out with us. If you want to talk further my email is on my profile.
