It always comes back to Love....

Today was pretty cool. My new church DMBC had a installation service for me as their new pastor. They suprised me by having my father deliver the message. It was very nice. During his message he quoted from John 13:34-35,
"A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this all men will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another."
We can fight about who is right. We can argue over the Bible. But it all comes back to love. Jesus said that the way people will know we are disciples of Jesus is how we treat one-another. I don't think the "church" does a very good job at this. I'm grateful to be at a local church that seems to genuinely love each other. My challenge is that "The Church" starts loving each other. We can disagree. We don't even have to like each other, but we must love each other. Imagine what a difference we can make in the world if "seekers" see Christ Followers who love one another!

when you get a chance, listen to those NT Wright talks i blogged on. those are incredible, and deal specifically with the future of church and the meaning of heaven/kingdom. they are phenomenal and SO informative in that "if i had know that sooner, this would have made so much more sense" way.

glad your dad was there. sweet.
